Week #2 Reflection

Working as a Rising Voices fellow this week has been so nice! I just came back from a leadership session on power and love with Regina and Jungsoo, and it was so insightful. I really like how often we're placed into breakout rooms to foster discussion in the fellowship meetings rather than just sitting in the Zooms with no interaction with the other fellows. In these breakout rooms today, I really got a chance to talk with my other fellows and expand my idea of what love and power are. Although I'd come into the meeting seeing power as more of a two-dimensional concept (for example, power = powerful role like a President or a CEO), by the end of the meeting I grew to understand that it was so much more than that. By discussing with my other fellows and leaders, I started to understand that anyone could have power in their mindset; it didn't exactly have to be a "position" sort of thing. I remember Jungsoo made a comment on how power was actually more of a life journey and something experienced and gathered over time. This week was super exciting and insightful, and I can't wait for the rest of the fellowship!
